Jim Huiskamp, President of Blackhawk Bank & Trust, and Dennis Eckhardt, President of Port Byron State Bank, jointly announce that the merger of Port Byron State Bank with and into Blackhawk Bank & Trust is now complete. Final merger papers were signed on June 28th and the merger is effective at the opening of business June 30th. We are a community partner. Most importantly, we are dedicated to local ownership, and as our tag line proudly states, we are “Not For Sale.”

QUESTION AND ANSWERS

Q. Will my branch stay open?
A. The Port Byron State Bank branch in Port Byron, IL will remain a full service branch of Blackhawk Bank & Trust. You may continue to do your banking at that branch whether you need to make a quick deposit, have a question for Customer Service, or have loan needs. The Port Byron branch lobby hours are: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm; Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM; and Saturday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The drive-up hours are: Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM; Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM; and Saturday, 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

On August 1, 2016, the Colona and Coal Valley branch locations will be consolidated with Blackhawk branches in those communities. At that time, the lobby and drive-up hours will be the same as the Blackhawk Bank & Trust lobby and drive-up hours in those branch locations. The Port Byron location will continue to serve the Port Byron area.

Q. Where are the Blackhawk Bank & Trust branches located?
A. Blackhawk Bank & Trust now has fourteen Illinois and three Iowa branches. Our headquarters are located downtown Milan, IL at 301 West 4th Street. Click here for a list of our branch locations.

Q. Will my account change?
A. The transition from Port Byron State Bank accounts to Blackhawk Bank & Trust accounts will happen on September 16, 2016. At this time, your account type will transfer into a comparable account type at Blackhawk Bank & Trust. Details regarding account mapping can be found in this publication. If you feel a different account would better fit your needs, we are happy to move you into the account type you feel most comfortable with.

Q. Will I get a new account number?
A. Your checking and savings account numbers will remain the same throughout the transition, and in most cases, even after your accounts are transferred to Blackhawk Bank & Trust. We will notify you in advance if it is necessary for your account number to change.

Q. Will I be able to use my existing card for ATM and debit transactions?
A. Yes, your existing Debit & ATM cards will continue to work until 9:00 AM CST on Monday, September 19, 2016. Prior to that time we will re-issue you a Blackhawk Bank & Trust MasterCard® Debit/ATM card. Your new card will be able to be used as of 3:00 PM on Friday, September 16, 2016. IMPORTANT NOTE: Your new Blackhawk Bank & Trust Debit and/ or ATM card will have a different card number than your Port Byron State Bank Debit/ATM card. If you have direct debits from your account with your card number, please be sure to update your vendor of the card number change for all transactions on or after September 16th. If your card expires in the meantime, we may automatically send you a new, updated Port Byron State Bank card until you can get your Blackhawk Bank card.

Q. How do I make my loan payments?
A. You may continue to make your loan payments just as you have with Port Byron. Plus, any Blackhawk Bank & Trust branch can accept your loan payment now.

Q. Can I continue to use the Port Byron State Bank Online Banking system?
A. You can continue to use the Port Byron State Bank Online Banking system as usual until 3:30 PM on September 16, 2016. We will send you detailed communications regarding your online banking prior to September so you’ll know what to expect and how to make a smooth transition to the Blackhawk Bank & Trust internet banking system. In the meantime, please know that your account history, eStatements, scheduled internal account transfers, and electronic alerts will not convert over to the eCHIEF Internet Banking system automatically. You will be asked to re-enroll via online enrollment into the Blackhawk Bank & Trust eCHIEF Internet Banking as of 8:00 AM on Monday, September 19, 2016.

Q. What happens with my Port Byron State Bank Online Bill Payment account?
A. You will continue to use your online Bill Payment account until the systems merge at 3:30 PM on September 16, 2016. Again, you will be notified prior to any changes that will take place. We are happy to share with you now, that all previous bill payment records you have added to the Port Byron State Bank Bill Payment system will transfer over and be available to you within 24 hours after you re-enroll for internet banking via the Blackhawk Bank & Trust eCHIEF Internet Banking system. All bill payment history, scheduled payments, and payee information will be maintained and made available to you. There will be no loss of bill pay information.

Q. What will happen with my Safe Deposit Box?
A. If you have a Safe Deposit box in the Coal Valley or Colona branches, the boxes and/or contents of the boxes were moved with the branch consolidation on August 1. If you have a box at one of these branches, you should have received a letter via U.S. Mail giving you details of the transition of the boxes. Safe Deposit boxes in Coal Valley were relocated in their entirety with the guidance of the Coal Valley Police and a Qualified moving company. In Colona, we have asked customers to come in and remove their items and choose another box in our existing Blackhawk Bank & Trust Colona office. The contract will be good until Feb 20, 2017. No payment needed at this time.

Q. What do I need to do to make sure my Direct Deposit and Automatic Deductions continue as they do now?
A. Your Direct Deposit and Automatic Deductions will continue with your Blackhawk Bank & Trust account. Blackhawk Bank will send notice to the originator (your employer, insurance company, etc.) to let them know of the transition from Port Bryon State Bank to Blackhawk Bank & Trust. In some cases, the originator may contact you to authorize this change.

Q. Will my account fees change?
A. With the conversion of account types, there will also be account fee changes. Depending on the account you decide is most appropriate for you, there may be changes. Please refer to the account descriptions and fee schedules of Blackhawk Bank & Trust in this booklet to learn more about the details of your new Blackhawk Bank & Trust account.

Q. If I change or upgrade my checking account, do I need to close my existing account?
A. No, you may easily convert your existing account and in most cases, keep the same account number and your checks.

Q. Will I need to order new documents? Checks?
A. You will be able to use your current printed checks. When it is time for you to re-order, you will automatically receive Blackhawk Bank & Trust checks.

Q. When will I receive my last Port Byron State Bank account statement and my first Blackhawk Bank & Trust account statement?
A. You will receive your final Port Byron State Bank account statement with transactions posted through September 15, 2016. Your first official Blackhawk Bank & Trust account statement with your new account type will be produced within 30 days. Statements produced at month end will remain on the same schedule. All customers currently enrolled for eStatements will receive paper statements until you re-enroll for Internet Banking and opt-in to receive eStatements (enrollment is open as of Monday, September 19, 2016). If you need your statement on a specific date, please visit a Customer Service Representative at your local branch.
