Shred Day FAQ

At Blackhawk Bank & Trust, protecting your financial information is just as important as helping you manage your money. That's why we're proud to host shred day event for our customers.

Whether you’re cleaning out a file cabinet or finally tackling that pile of old paperwork, we’re here to help you safely dispose of it. Below are the answers to common questions about this event.

When and Where is the Next Shred Day?

📅 Date: June 21
📍 Location: Parkway Branch (Milan Beltway) 2009 10th Avenue East in Milan
🕘 Time: 9:30-11:30 AM

Note: Shredding is available only during the scheduled event hours or until the truck reaches full capacity.

What Should I Bring?

Bring any personal documents that contain confidential information, including:

  • Bank or credit card statements
  • Tax documents (older than 7 years)
  • Medical bills or records
  • Pay stubs or insurance documents
  • Pre-approved credit offers

Please remove large metal clips, binders, or folders, but staples and paper clips are perfectly fine.

Items not accepted include: plastic or metal items, large bound volumes (such as books or magazines), electronic media (such as flash drives, CDs, or DVDs). These items will be returned to you.


Is There a Limit to How Much I Can Bring?

To keep the event moving efficiently, please limit your shred items to two banker boxes or grocery-sized bags per vehicle. 


Is the Shredding Process Secure?

Yes! All materials are shredded on-site by a professional document destruction provider. 


Do I Have to Get Out of My Car?

Nope! Our team will unload your items for you. It’s a quick, contactless drive-thru experience—just pop the trunk and go.


What Happens to the Paper After It’s Shredded?

After shredding, all paper is recycled, helping us protect not just your privacy, but the environment too.
